First grade teacher Leanne Prevete at Westhampton Beach Learning Center used a pumpkin-themed activity to take her students through a multipart lesson. They employed their senses and adjectives to describe pumpkins, completed an investigation sheet to learn if a palm-sized pumpkin would sink or float in a bowl of water, listened to a story about the pumpkin life cycle, and then painted a little pumpkin of their own.
