The Barbering students at Islip Academic Center recently donated their time and talent to provide free haircuts to veterans. Students gathered at the Northport Veterans Affairs Medical Center to spend the day cutting the hair of those who’ve served our country. “It was their way of giving back,” explained Barbering and Cosmetology Teacher Luke Mahoney. “This event was an opportunity for our students to help their community, hone their craft, and put their customer service skills into action. All the veterans were so appreciative. It was a very moving experience for everyone involved.”
