New Dual-credit Courses Provide Advantages

Eastern Suffolk BOCES is proud to announce that the seniors in two English language arts courses at Sequoya High School will graduate with college credits.

The high school offered two new courses this school year that allowed seniors to earn college credits through Suffolk County Community College. Participating students are dually enrolled so they accumulate both high school and college credits for the courses, which are also transferable to other colleges. Dual-credit courses can provide a smoother transition between high school and college, first-hand exposure to college-level work, and a chance to complete degrees faster. Those courses offered at Sequoya include a three-credit Freshman Composition class and one-credit College Seminar class.
