To prepare his students for possible interviews with a police department or government agency, Bixhorn Tech Law Enforcement Teacher Gary Travers collaborated with the school’s TV, Video, and Digital Film Production class. Each of Travers’ students took part in a mock interview, while the TV students recorded and edited them so their classmates could view the interviews at a later date to learn and improve.

Every student came prepared by dressing appropriately and carrying a resume. They took turns sitting at the front of the class to answer questions, which were asked by classmates and their teacher. Fellow students also provided valuable written feedback for each interviewee.

Said Travers, “Going through this exercise allowed my students to better prepare for interviews for entry-level positions in law enforcement, and the video and written feedback gives everyone the opportunity to better themselves. Additionally, our TV Production students received real-world practice by recording these live events.”
