ESBOCES Holds Annual Trike-A-Thon to Benefit St. Jude
The Early Childhood Education Programs at two Eastern Suffolk BOCES schools joined together to hold their annual Trike-A-Thon to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The preschoolers in the programs did laps on the track around the playground on tricycles, two-wheelers with training wheels, and scooters while students in the Early Childhood Education Programs made sure everyone was safe. Parents visited to cheer on their youngsters. This year, students and staff raised almost $2,900, exceeding their goal of $2,500.
The high school students in the programs are studying to be early childhood educators and attend programs at either the Edward J. Milliken Technical Center or the Islip Career Center. Both schools reside on the same campus in Oakdale.
