Work Activity Center

The Work Activities Center provides a variety of school and community-based work/volunteer experiences for students 16 years of age and over. These experiences occur during the school day with transportation and job coaching services provided. Each work site offers different tasks and caters to a varied skill level in which students are placed accordingly. The job coaches focus on: student independence, responding appropriately in social situations with both peers and employees, time management, and remaining on task. Students’ work assignments are usually one to two days a week for several hours. Students’ work assignments are usually one to two days a week for several hours.
