Retail

The Retail program in the Transition Services Program (TSP) at the Brookhaven Learning Center, is a simulated work setting within an educational school environment that provides students with work related skill development, located in a beautiful, newly renovated store front in the TSP wing. Students rotate every 6-8 weeks, through store positions, they include: Customer Service reps, store greeter, service and snack counter clerks, drinks/frozen foods person, snack makers and store floater. In addition, all students are involved in pricing and stocking goods, shopping at COSTCO for all store inventory, keeping of daily, weekly and monthly sales and making deliveries throughout the building. Our customer base includes four TSP classes, BLC classes, staff, and a host of drop in customers throughout the day. The TSP retail store is a vibrant, dynamic, customer friendly environment. Students are acquiring functional and work related skills that will best serve them when they graduate and pursue opportunities in the adult world.
