Horticulture
Students in Horticulture learn through practical experiences the day to day operations of working in a Florist. They gain knowledge by identifying flowers widely used in the floral industry. They learn the common vocabulary of all supplies, materials and equipment used in floral creations. They are encouraged to recognize patterns and shapes to create floral arrangements for all occasions and holidays which are bought by the school community. Students learn to work with live flowers and plants as well as silk and dry flowers. The class promotes development of 21st Century skills essential for life long learning and job placement.
