Professional Development

Welcome to Eastern Suffolk BOCES Professional Development Services!  We offer both regional workshops (open to all districts) as well as customized in-district professional development. Since learning is the focus of all our work, we believe that exploring current trends, designing best practices and developing networks and communities for information sharing and discussion are at the heart of our program.

Please click on the "Calendar" page on the left menu to view upcoming regional workshop flyers.  Professional Development regional workshops are excellent learning opportunities for educators. Each is carefully designed to support the most current thinking in education as well as best practices that can be implemented in the classroom. You may also browse (and register) for our many regional offerings through webreg.esboces.org. (Please register as early as possible as workshops run based on enrollment.)

In-district workshops are professional development sessions requested specifically by a particular district to address a particular goal. District Administration can feel free to browse our Consultant Network by 'category' (area of expertise), and they can email pdreferral@esboces.org to request a consultant referral.  In the email, please include the content/topic for the PD, intended audience, and approximate time frame.  Our team will respond with a referral for you to consider.

Frontline Professional Learning Management System (formerly My Learning Plan) is an outstanding web based data management system. It allows districts to align goals for professional development electronically and even to maintain clear tracking of teacher data regarding workshops and courses. Teachers register for our professional development through webreg.esboces.org.  Districts electronically grant approval to attend the workshops.

If you would like to be considered as a possible K-12 educational consultant in our network and you are a "master" certified teacher or school district administrator, please email newconsultants@esboces.org and include the following information:

  • Up-to-date Resume or Curriculum Vitae
  • Website URL (if you have one)
  • LinkedIn URL (if you have one)
  • Company Name & Address (if you have one)
  • Top 3-5 areas of expertise
  • Your bio (approximately 100-200 words)
  • Proposal for a half-day (3 hour) introductory workshop - in one of your areas of expertise

One of our team members will contact you to arrange for a Zoom meeting to discuss potential consulting.
