Family Education Outreach Program Provides Summer Support To Students

ESBOCES Family Education Outreach Program’s (FEOP) goal is to serve each of the 300 children enrolled in their program throughout the summer. FEOP is grant funded and reaches eligible families from the East End of Long Island to New York City, offering a variety of educational support services and programs free of charge. One of the ways FEOP has been reaching their students this summer, is with the two-hour instructional support program,

During the One Book, One Program summer program, students receive a bilingual lesson using the book ๐˜š๐˜ค๐˜ณ๐˜ช๐˜ฃ๐˜ฃ๐˜ญ๐˜ฆ ๐˜š๐˜ต๐˜ฐ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฆ๐˜ด, building vocabulary skills and even incorporating math, and then decorate their own stones to learn that everyone has a purpose in this world. While some students are attending the program at FEOP’s Riverhead location, the program also travels to local libraries, and transportation and a meal are provided at all locations. The program is also offered virtually for those who cannot attend in person.

ESBOCES Family Education Outreach Programs serves at-risk children from ages 2 to 22, including the children of migratory agricultural workers, homeless children, unaccompanied youth, and other children who live below the poverty line. The program provides supplementary educational and advocacy services in order to ensure that all students have an equal opportunity to be successful in school.
