ESBOCES and District Council 9 Partner to Provide Food Vouchers to Local Families This Holiday Season

In a generous display of community support, District Council 9 (DC 9) of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades has donated 50 food vouchers to Eastern Suffolk BOCES (ESBOCES) to distribute to families in need. The vouchers, which can be used for Butterball products such as turkey, holiday ham or a chocolate dessert, will be given to select ESBOCES students and their families during the holiday season.

Joseph Azzopardi, Business Manager and Secretary-Treasurer of DC 9, expressed pride in the donation, stating, “Uplifting our fellow community members is at the core of all that we do at DC 9. In addition to providing apprenticeship and training for family-sustaining careers in the finishing trades, our members volunteer and give back to the communities where we live and work. We hope this donation brings warmth and joy to our Long Island neighbors. Together, we can make this holiday season brighter for those in need.”

Leah Arnold, Director of Career, Technical, and Adult Education at Eastern Suffolk BOCES, shared her gratitude, adding, “This partnership is a shining example of community support. By providing food vouchers for Butterball products, DC 9 is helping to brighten the holidays for our students and families while reinforcing the importance of giving back.”
