Alicia DiStefano regularly employs interns from the ESBOCES Special Career Education Program. DiStefano has been a part of the industry since she was 14, when she started working in a pizzeria in her hometown. Today, those restaurant owners are now her partners in this current venture. “One of the reasons that I love working with interns is because so much of this business is who you know,” she said. “Being able to be afforded those foundations when you’re young is really important.”
