Bus Safety Art Contest

The New York Association for Pupil Transportation (NYAPT) organizes an annual poster contest that aims to promote school bus safety awareness among students across the state. As part of this exciting initiative, students were invited to participate in a special workshop where they had the opportunity to design and create their own poster entries reflecting this year’s theme: “Safety First – Safety Always.” . Kristina Testani, an art teacher at Brookhaven Learning Center, guided students in creating artwork to submit for the contest. 

Participants had the chance to compete for monetary prizes at the county level, with awards of $100 for first place, $75 for second place, and $50 for third place. It was a wonderful opportunity for young artists to showcase both their creativity and their commitment to promoting important safety messages.

Brookhaven Learning Center is incredibly proud to share that student, Nimrod Fontaine earned second place in his division—an outstanding achievement! His artistic talents and thoughtful interpretation of the theme truly stood out.
