BAC Celebrates Cinco De Mayo

Students at the Bellport Academic Center immersed themselves in Mexican culture. This interactive Cinco de Mayo celebration that featured student-designed flyers, research on the holiday’s historical significance, and traditional Spanish songs. This immersive experience, which allowed learners to wear traditional attire and showcase their language skills, served as the culmination of a thematic unit designed to bridge academic learning with authentic heritage. The event concluded with a festive celebration of traditional Mexican food, providing a hands-on experience that fostered a deeper appreciation for Hispanic traditions beyond the textbook.
