The Family Education Outreach Programs are a cluster of specially funded Title I programs that serve at-risk children from ages 2 to 22. Our population includes the children of migratory agricultural workers, homeless children, unaccompanied youth and other children who live below the poverty line. The programs provide much-needed supplementary educational and advocacy services in early childhood education as well as academic support for school-age students in order to ensure that all of these students have an equal opportunity to be successful in school. These services are available at no cost to districts, to qualifying students.
In addition, we host various collaborative McKinney-Vento Consortia and the Long Island Migrant Education Consortium, providing on-going advocacy, professional development and networking opportunities to member districts keeping them up-to-date on relevant issues and advocacy as we work together to responsibly serve homeless and migrant children and youth across Long Island. Educational advocacy, translation and interpreting services are also available for parents, children and youth.
