  • ESBOCES Processing Fee Change

     
    The processing fee charged by ESBOCES is now $35 for all applications submitted on or after July 1, 2017.
     

    Employment Verification Forms

     
    The Office of Teaching Initiatives has released updated employment verification forms. These forms will be required for all Permanent, Professional, and Teaching Assistant Level II or III certificate applications.
     
     
     
     

    New Registration and CTLE Requirements

     
    As of July 1, 2016, holders of Permanent or Professional teaching or administrative certificates or Level III teaching assistant certificates will be required to apply for registration during the 2016/2017 school year during his/her month of birth. Registration shall be renewed every five years. Holders of Professional teaching or administrative certificates or Level III teaching assistant certificates will be required to complete 100 hours of Continuing Teacher and Leader Education (CTLE) during the registration period.     Individual Evaluation Pathway

     
    The individual evaluation pathway is not available for the following certificate titles: Early Childhood Education (Birth-Grade 2), Childhood Education (Grades 1-6), Generalist in Middle Childhood Education (Grades 5-9), English Language Arts (Grades 5-9), English Language Arts (Grades 7-12), Literacy (Birth-Grade 6), and Literacy (Grades 5-12). Candidates who wish to pursue their first teaching certificate in one of the certification areas listed above will be required to complete a teacher preparation program. The individual evaluation pathway will continue to be available for all other certificate titles.
     

    New Certification Exams

     
    Candidates applying for their first initial teaching certificate on or after May 1, 2014, will be required to pass the new certification exams: edTPA, EAS, ALST, and CST. More information on new exams
     

    New Certification Workshop

     
    The DASA Training Workshop is required for all certification applications submitted on or after December 31, 2013.
