Shielded Metal Arc Welding Preparation Course

Learn beginner to advanced arc welding procedures and practices as you prepare for the AWSD1.1 Qualification Standard 3G vertical or 4G overhead (both qualifications are available. Individuals must register for each qualification separately). Topics include machine set-up, joint design, electrode selection, and polarity. Other topics to be discussed will be the three basic welding joints, as well as out-of-position welding. There will be an emphasis on structural welding and the American Welding Society (AWS) D1.1 standard.

The Welders performance qualification is a groove weld on 1” plate that meets the requirements of AWS D1.1. 20 classes
