Blended Courses and Content for Students
These courses reside in the Nassau BOCES Center for Online Learning's (COL) learning management system, allowing direct student and teacher access 24/7/365. A district must belong to the Eastern Suffolk BOCES Virtual Learning service in order to access COL content. This subscription entitles districts full access to COL offerings.
It is recommended that teachers hold a current Buzz Teacher License ($94/year) to facilitate these courses. This license provides access to the Buzz Learning platform through which students participate. There are no additional fees for students. Said license also allows teachers to facilitate additional courses with all students (even those not enrolled in the original course) at no extra cost. Teachers already possessing a Buzz license for the current school year do not need to purchase an additional license.
First-time users of the Buzz Learning Management System will participate in a 3-day blended training ($350) to familiarize them with accessing, editing/enhancing and delivering content.

Each of the Common Core courses has all materials from EngageNY reorganized into a user-friendly format. These modules are enhanced with additional preparatory materials for teachers and educational resources for students. These modules can be fully adopted or adapted at a district, building, or individual level.
Each OHM BOCES Science kit developed includes complete curricular scope and sequence, sequential daily lesson plans, comprehensive student workbook, digital content presentation, all physical materials needed, inquiry based exploration and more. Workbooks are available in Spanish.
Designed by teachers, the Social Studies Curriculum invokes students to take ownership of their learning as they discover our past in order to learn more about themselves and the people that surround them throughout their lives.
Nassau BOCES currently belongs to a consortium of New York State BOCES and school districts that are working with local faculty members to develop content for blended and virtual courses. These courses are built on a continuous improvement model and can be fully adopted or adapted at a district, building or individual level.
