    Center-Based Functional Academic Skills Program

The Functional Academic Skills Program at Premm Learning Center services students with moderate to severe development disabilities.  The primary goal of the program is to maximize each student's potential and to teach skills that will enable them to become as independent as possible within the confines of their disability.  Program components include academics with an emphasis on functional skill development, utilizing a modified Common Core Curriculum.  Behavior management, independent living and social skills are also addressed.  Functional assessments of behavior and behavior intervention plans are implemented for support when needed.  All students are assessed using the New York State Alternate Assessment.
