Overview

A wide variety of specialists is available to provide evaluations designed to assess cognitive skills, determine the presence of a disability, or identify specific learning disabilities, learning styles, and modality preference of school-age students who attend school in their home district. Day and evening evaluations can be scheduled, Monday through Friday, with audiologists, learning disabilities specialists, occupational or physical therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, teachers of the hearing or visually impaired, and educators with specialized knowledge of augmentative/alternative communication and assistive technology. Resulting reports help the district determine the most appropriate educational program, related services, or educational strategies for the student. Upon request, test results are reviewed with parents and presented to the CSE.
