Please join Eastern and Western
Suffolk BOCES as we host a workshop entitled “Introduction to Texas Instruments Nspire
Technology”. Attendees will tour the Nspire keypad and will
notice similarities and improvements on previous handheld technology. The
document model will prove to be an innovated approach that will change the
learning environment in math classrooms. Specific examples will be
provided related to the teaching of Integrated Algebra, Integrated Geometry,
Data Analysis, and Calculus.
Enhanced graphing capabilities
combined with easy-to-use computer features distinguish TI-Nspire
technology from traditional graphing calculators. Unique TI-Nspire features
include the ability to:
- See
multiple representations of a problem, individually or all at the same time,
on a single screen.
- Link
representations of a problem to see how changes to one affect
others.
- "Grab-and-move" graphed functions
in real time to observe relationships and patterns.
- Save and
review work, using features similar to a computer.
- Use
built-in interactive geometry capabilities.
- Enter and
view mathematical expressions as they appear in textbooks.
- Operate
the TI-Nspire handheld, with TI-84 plus Keypad snapped in, side-by-side and
keystroke-for-keystroke with existing TI graphing calculators. (The TI-Nspire
CAS handheld does not include the TI-84 plus Keypad.)
- Experience
identical functionality between TI-Nspire handhelds and TI-Nspire computer
software.
