The Eastern Suffolk BOCES Model Schools Program will present its Tenth
Annual Celebration of Technology in Education (CTE) at Stony Brook University's
Sports Complex Arena on April 16th, 2010. Please join us and
over 600 students and teachers from Eastern Suffolk County at this all-day
conference as we share best practices for using technology in the classroom.
Educators, administrators and guests will:
- Experience live demonstrations of the instructional technologies
used in local schools to enhance standards-based learning;
- Observe tried-and-true projects in an interactive and casual venue;
- Understand how different applications are integrated within K-12
education curricula;
- Learn firsthand from their colleagues just how easily they can make
similar lessons happen in their own classrooms.

The CTE is also a marvel in that it is sponsored entirely by corporate
donations. While this is a generous way to support the modernization of
education in the area, it is also a rare opportunity for corporations
and organizations to reach decision makers from many districts at once.
There are many ways to participate in this event -- whether by purchasing
a display space, offering a monetary and/or product donation, sponsoring
certain portions of the event, or all of the above! Corporate exhibitors
and sponsors for 2010 event include:
Acceptance of student and teacher applications is dependent upon
the monies generated to fund the program, so assistance through any
means is greatly appreciated. If you have any questions or need additional
information please contact Amy
Schildwachter (631-288-9568) at the Model Schools office. We
look forward to your participation in creating an unforgettable experience
for all!
We are especially excited to continue our theme into 2010 theme:
How Do You Use Instructional Technology to Think Globally and Act Locally?
Some examples may include but are certainly not limited to:
- Going Green – Nature and/or Energy
- Human Rights Awareness
- Disease Prevention and Cures
- Poverty and Hunger
- World Unity
