ETR HealthSmart - HealthSmart is the premier K-12 health education program in America. It is the only program to focus so clearly on reducing the risky behaviors identified by the CDC.

Tobacco Action Coalition - The Tobacco Action Coalition of Long Island was established in 1990 as one of 22 coalitions in New York State participating in the American Stop Smoking Intervention Study (ASSIST). The coalition consists of healthcare providers, local and state government agencies, non-profit organizations, youth agencies, community groups and concerned citizens.

Cornell Cooperative Extension - "Getting it Right, Right from the Start: Preventing Childhood Obesity and Type 2 Diabetes." US Department of Agriculture, Food and Nutrition Information Center - Various links and publications about a variety of important health topics.

We Can! (Ways to Enhance Children's Activity and Nutrition) - A national healthy weight education program for families and communities. The program focuses on providing expert health information, classes and activities to families to encourage better nutrition, more physical activity, and less "screen time" for children and young people ages 8-13.

VERB It’s what you do. - The VERB campaign encourages young people ages 9–13 (tweens) years to be physically active every day. The campaign combines paid advertising, marketing strategies, and partnership efforts to reach the distinct audiences of tweens and adults/influencers.

Suffolk County

Suffolk County Department of Health Services - Learn To Be Tobacco Free - Financed through the Master Tobacco Settlement Agreement this program will help prevent children from becoming addicted to nicotine, assist those who want to quit and strictly enforce laws prohibiting tobacco sales and use.

Suicide Prevention

Lifelines School-Based Suicide Response Program - Information about suicide prevention curriculum for 8th or 9th graders as well as parent and faculty training.

Tobacco

Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids - This is an interactive website that educates the public about the hazardous chemicals in tobacco products. It is geared for kids but adults might be just as inclined to visit the site and journey through the “Haz-Mat” site. CFTFK also has survey information available and statistics on the power of advertising tobacco products.
