Model Schools Teacher Integration Specialists (TIS) are NYS certified teachers who are experts in the use of various technologies to support teaching and learning. They specialize in providing customized professional development either in workshop or job-embedded format as well as instructional technology support to the administrative team.

Think about using a TIS to:

• Provide instructional technology workshops.
• Provide customized, job-embedded support.
• Train district teachers on how to use top tools such as, but certainly not limited to, Thinkfinity, SAS Curriculum Pathways, Professor Garfield.
• Assist district teachers in using newer technologies such as gaming simulations and avatars. Model Schools is currently supporting Quest Atlantis and the Educational Development Center.
• Find an exchange classroom.
• Facilitate a pilot process.
• Provide support when planning and implementing the district’s technology plan.

Work day

TIS can provide support for a full day or a half-day. A full day is up to 6.5 hours including lunch and appropriate breaks. A half-day is up to 3.25 hours. If a TIS is split between schools within a district, please allow appropriate travel, break, and setup time.
