Please use this checklist to make sure your district is taking full advantage of all of their Model Schools resources and opportunities. Model Schools provides districts with an array of opportunities that support district’s professional development efforts.

☑Join the listserv by sending an email to subscribe-mschoollist@lists.esboces.org and do not type words in the subject or text area. It is suggested that technology directors, building principals, chairpeople, and interested teachers make this effort. All Assistant Superintendents for Curriculum and Instruction receive this information on their listserv.

☑ShareModel Schools information. In general, an opportunity might be highlighted on the listserv and then it will be condensed into the bi-monthly listserv announcement. .

☑Host regional opportunities that align with district goals such as quarterly Liaison meetings, regional workshops, and Lunch and Learns.

☑Send teachers to free regional workshops. List can be located at http://www.esboces.org/ms/docs/Model_Schools_Workshops_2011-2012.pdf, on the listserv, or on My Learning Plan.

☑Participate in Liaison meetings, Breakfast Briefings, Lunch and Learns, and other opportunities. Virtual connections are available for most of the above.

☑Celebrate at the annual Celebration of Technology in Education.

☑Take advantage of substitute and stipend reimbursement.

☑Borrow shared, regional resources.

☑Consider acquiring a TIS for a reduced price, 40 day module, http://www.esboces.org/ms/docs/ModelSchoolsExamplePricing_11-12.pdf .

☑Use the district’s annual one free Model Schools day.

☑Use the district’s Atomic Learning licenses.

☑Find us on Delicious (ESBMS).

☑Obtain discounted professional development for online professional development http://www.esboces.org/ms/online_development.aspx , Leadership Series , ISTE webinars, and Ambassador cohorts.  

☑Use free technology planning assistance.

☑Join NYSCATE – the NYS ISTE affiliate. Membership is free.
