Career and Technical Education programs are offered to all students in our component high schools in grades 11 and 12. There are 40 different Career & Technical Education programs offered at Eastern Suffolk BOCES with 17 of those programs offered at BTC. All courses are recommended to carry 4 units of graduation credit upon completion. A certificate of completion is awarded to each student who achieves a 70 average or better and is present 90% of the school year. Many of the courses have been approved for NYSED Career and Technical Education (CTE) Technical Endorsement with college articulation and possible academic credit.
The Academic Program serves special education students in grades 7-12 providing a full day academic program that allows students to work toward a NYS approved Regents Diploma. Services that are available include: psychiatric services from Sagamore Day Treatment Center, school based counseling (individual & group), and other related services as per the students IEP. There are an array of extra-curricula activities such as: National Honor Society; Yearbook Staff; Prom Committee; Level Reward Days; and Student Council. When recommended students are provided with the opportunity to attend Career & Technical Education programs as part of their high school day in preparation for post secondary school or work.
