The Regional Information Center supports information and technology needs of school districts in Suffolk County. It is one of twelve (12) Regional Information Centers located throughout the State. Professional and cost-effective services include software training; installation, support, and maintenance for a variety of financial and student information systems; special education software support; test scoring; data warehouse and student data analysis; network design and management; Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) support; and microcomputer repair services. Our goal is to help districts use technology to make district management easier and more efficient.
Financial Services provides school districts with support services for two software solutions used for their business and financial application needs. Finance Manager and Sunguard Pentamation are each fully integrated systems that are designed to meet the accounting and reporting requirements of school districts. Additionally, we offer BOLD Systems Election Management System and Computerized Voter Registration as a service to school districts interested in centralizing voter registration data.
Two levels of support are available to school districts using Finance Manager:
- Basic support includes telephone software application support, training documentation and workshops, regional user group membership, FM software updates, W-2/1099 and tax change documentation, Retirement System Updates and workshops, custom reports, remote access setup and configuration using PC Anywhere 10.5, payroll file transmissions (direct deposit, OMNI, credit union, bank reconciliation files).
- Full support includes all basic support services plus on-site support for applications as well as production and printing of all checks and related reports, delivery of checks to your school district, and W-2/1099 form printing. BOCES will also transmit credit union, direct deposit and OMNI files for participating districts.
One level of support is available to school districts using Sunguard Pentamation:
- Basic Support includes telephone application support, training documentation and workshops, on-site support, W-2/1099 and tax change documentation and printing, Retirement System Updates and workshops, custom reports, remote access setup and configuration, payroll file transmissions (direct deposit, OMNI, credit union, monthly bank reconciliation files).
Supplemental Services: On-site support during check printing, cycle end report printing and additional training/retraining services and W2/1099 form printing (for Basic Support districts).
BOLD Systems Election Management System and Computerized Voter Registration
This computer software and service package allows school districts to have all voter registration records compiled into a centralized system, voter signature books are produced for each district and pre and post election services (verify that data is accurate and matches County Board of Election data, perform any data entry necessary, compile budget vote data and produce Poll List and other needed reports within a few days). In addition, new statistical reports can be generated for certain groups of voters for tracking purposes and have a copy of your school district's data secured at the Regional Information Center.
